Wow. This is really well done. It’s an ad promoting travel to Oregon done by W+K and psyop and Sun Creatures Studio. The concept is to show how amazing Oregon is through illustration and they chose the look of Studio Ghibli animation to bring it to life. While I love everything about this look and the execution is flawless I do have slightly mixed feelings about it. It’s pretty heavy on borrowed interest. I do buy their angle that Ghibli style brings out the wonder and beauty and they want to align that with Oregon, but I can’t help but suspect that someone at W+K just really wanted to do something like this and this was their excuse. In the end though, who cares? It’s a beautiful piece of advertising and I love it.
