Let me just say first off that I really like this design system and I am in awe of designers and studios that can pull this off. It’s a rebrand for Nike Track and Field and apparently Nike does a rebrand every year and uses the new look in it’s promotional and event materials. I especially like the use of the running lanes iconography.
My main critique, however, is that the overall look feels more IBM than Nike to me. Without the Nike swoosh, I would never in a million years think Nike if I saw this on the street. I am a big fan of simplicity and a stripped down visual language, but I do feel like this is lacking a bit of the heat that I would expect from a topic that is all about speed, strength and agility.
