I’ve been especially focused on UX lately so here is an example that stood out to me. It’s a very conventional design system – clear, easy to understand grids and structure – but there’s one major difference which makes it really stand out. It’s a horizontal scroll. I don’t think it’s necessarily ground breaking or even an improvement to the overall user experience, but the designers get credit for trying something new.
I suppose you could look at it as a site that’s only a hero carousel on steroids. But then when you click through, it maintains it’s horizontal scrolling structure. Like I said, it’s something to think about but not necessarily a great solution for everything.
