I occasionally spot an illustrator that I want to write about. It may be just a sign of my ignorance but most illustrations I run across feel like clip art or corporate junk trying to seem artsy. I can’t help it. Manddy Wykens has a style that evokes some of my favorite animated movies like Song of the Sea or Ghibli features. Simple lines, great composition and a strong emotional pull. I want to know the stories of the people she draws. Her animations seem to capture that same feeling too. I love these.
