Taking a step back, design ethics is an important topic these days and there are many paths it can go down. From dark ux patterns to sustainability, it’s a growing movement. This website tackles energy usage, which is a growing problem as the world moves to larger server farms and high-energy data usage. All this connectivity comes at a high-carbon cost. Low Tech Mag is run off of a solar powered server and uses optimized images to use 1/5 the power of an average site. it even shuts down when power is not available during cloudy days. This site practices what it preaches and serves as a strong example of what will be necessary as we prepare for the global battle against climate change.
