I’ve been redoing my UX portfolio site (www.uxnadav.com) so i’ve been especially focused on how companies and people sell themselves. I really like the effortlessness and simplicity of this site for a New York PR firm. There’s nothing flashy about it but it has really smooth animation, bright colors that make you notice each section as you scroll. They even have a TLDR button, which I have had on my site for at least a year! Anyway, the lesson I take from this site is that the less work the user has to do to get what they need, the better. I think that’s UX in a nutshell.
