There’s a lot to like about this website. Spire claims to be a data and analytics company but in reality they are sci-fi level space exploration company. They just happen to be exploring Earth from space. They have launched constellations of nano satellites to cover every inch of earth several times a day with sensors, cameras and other data capture tools. They package and sell the data to all kinds of companies. The site is pretty much a glorified infographic cleverly disguised as a marketing vehicle for the company. There’s not much that hasn’t been seen before but the way the information is packaged and visualized with cool sci-fi styled graphics works really well. Information is nested in carousels and slide out drawers so it feels manageable. The company really worked hard on the details and it shows. This site would fit right in on the screen of a spacecraft in Starship Troopers or Star Trek.
