I know I’ve been neglecting illustration in this blog. I think I’ve been avoiding it because I’m not good at it. Well, here’s a pretty inspirational artist. Taylor Benson is a self taught illustrator who has a very retro style that I feel is really on trend right now in the design world. The work looks really fun and happy but it hides some deep anxiety and depression in it. It feels like it’s a way for the artist to redirect some powerful emotions. It reminds me of Peter Max or Heinz Edelman(Yellow Submarine) with it’s bright whimsy.
