Cool photography? Check. Sweet animation? Check. It’s Japanese? Check. All things I am interested in, so let’s discuss it. What really stands out to me in this website for Inside Japan, a group that encourages tourists to visit, is the use of animated clipping masks in the scrolling navigation. I never thought about doing transitions with circular masks, so it’s definitely a technique to keep in my back pocket. The photography is quite beautiful so I give this website high marks in both content and UI design.
